Through your generosity, over and over, I am registered to ride in the 2011 Pan-Mass Challenge.  I am also again totally stoked to be able to run the...

2nd Annual Great Big Bag Raffle!

This event was very successful last year and helped to support pediatric cancer research that saves kids lives.

I already have items being donated this year and need to get an early start this year to help meet my 2011 (personal best) goal of $18,000.  Can we do it?  YES WE CAN!  I've been  receiving plugs, flies, jigs, rods, and assorted goodies and will be  putting these all together in a nice bundle of fishing goodness!  Just  give me a few nights to start taking pictures of things, but so far it already looks to be well over $1000 worth of stuff

-  good stuff -

- pediatric cancer curing  stuff!

How do I enter?

Tickets are available at  the following price points:

1 for $10

3 for $20

10 for $50

25 for $100

75 for $250

How do I pay?

1)  CLICK HERE   and make a donation for the  desired amount of tickets (which also sponsors my bike ride).   You can use any major credit card and it's a  secure site.

OR

2) Make a Check or Money Order out to "The Jimmy Fund" and  contact me by email or PM for address.  Once payment is received I will send a raffle ticket purchase  confirmation via email.

When is the drawing?

Drawing results will be posted 4/13/2011, 9pm (in memory of Jacob).

As last time, the winner will be notified via email and video of the   drawing posted on SOL (winner's SOL name only will be referenced).  I   will respond to this topic as well.

How do I donate items?

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR AWESOME DONATIONS!

Please consider donating a  plug, reel, line, leader, Toad's sock,  sinkers - heck, I don't care  what it is!  Ok, maybe not sinkers though  on second thought, they will  cost a fortune to mail to the winner.

Just contact me via PM or email and I will provide a US Mail address (I am considering a PO Box and will post it here if it makes send to pay for one).  If it's a large item to ship, please just post a picture of it and we can work things out when the winner is selected!

THANK YOU!

The proceeds of this  raffle support pediatric cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Children's Hospital Boston (for more info, click here), through restricted funding at The Jimmy Fund.  Your continued support has already resulted in a clinical trial for  leukemia and a method for increasing the amount of stem cells in  treatments.  All done with zebra fish! "From The Fish Tank To The Bed  Side!"  Thank you for helping find cures for kids with cancer and  to help prevent kids getting cancer in the future.  Thank you all so  much for helping kids like Team LEGS' Pedal Partners  (the children we ride in support of) and all the other kids who just  want to be better, and go  home.  Last  year Team LEGS rode for a sweet little princess named Emily who is  enduring treatment for Leukemia.  Your contributions support the  exact  research that benefits children like Emily. In fact Dr. Goessling's research  produced a treatment for her disease setting a record for  lab bench-to-bedside from the fish lab.  This research was funded in part by  those who sponsored my ride since 2008 - these funds are a  one-to-one  connection between your generosity and saving kids lives!

"You never know how strong you can  be,

until being strong is your only  choice."

            - Jacob Boudreau

Note: The Jimmy Fund is a 501©(3) charity and provides support for pediatric and adult cancer research.  However, I choose to restrict my fund raising solely towards pediatric cancer research (which, interestingly enough, has produced discoveries that benefit all age groups as well.)

A little in abundance is a lot.

"The winner can choose between two different setups: The only change would be the rod they choose. Same reel, bag, plugs, line of choice, but now they can choose between the Lami XSRA 1084 or a G. Loomis Pro Blue 7' PBR843S. The Loomis is a great rod for inshore boat, kayak, or wading (sight casting)."

Mike, allow me to help out here please. You left out most of the good stuff. biggrin.gif

Up for the 2011 Jimmy Fund Raffle, I'm donating;

1) A brand new Van Staal VM150 (I have the sales receipt and the winner can register the reel in their name as I bought this specifically for the raffle)

2) The winners choice of rods. Either a 9' Lamiglas XSRA 1084 1-4oz. one piece or a 7' G. Loomis Pro Blue PBR843S. Both match up nice with this reel.

3) The winners choice of line (mono or braid)

4) A new Bronco Medium 4 tube plug bag

5) A nice assortment of wood plugs (more will be added later)

I will handle shipping directly to the winner.

Mike posted pics of the reel mounted to the Loomis rod. Here are some pics of the rest of the gear. Hope you all like the offerings. Thanks for the support. My part is easy. Mike does all the hard work. highfive.gif

HappyWave.gif $10 for a chance at some nice gear and to give a kid a fighting chance. 100% of the funds go directly to the Jimmy Fund. I know I've said it before, but if you've gotten one bit of useful information from the forums here that helped you catch more fish, isn't that worth a $10 donation? highfive.gif
