Bass Pro Shops Travel Resort trips???Whats the deal

I was in BPS the other day and some lady was trying to sell me one of those trips where it cost $99 for 3 or 4 nights at one of the BPS resorts of choice just for listening to their 1 hour shpeal about buying a timeshare with them. Has anyone don't it through them and have any comments? The reason I ask is me and two fishing buddies are looking to take a little fishing trip to somewhere warmer for a few days...Florida maybe. Just thinking of a way to go on the cheap. Anyone?

Usally those "One hour" talks end up being around 3 hours & they pressure you to death! Very high pressure sales pitch. And most of the time you have to have your wife with you! Remember in this world you don't get nothing for nothing!
They make it sound sweet & promise you the world.
Ask anyone who has attended one or owns a time share. Most all have regretted ever signing the paper. Time shares IMO are the Pitts!

I was highly disappointed when I talked to the associates at my local Bass Pro (Foxboro)...their 'resorts' have little to do with fishing as far as I can tell. If you wanted an Alaska, Florida or Caribbean excursion, look elsewhere (there's nothing to look at in the Bass Pro Destination packages)...in fact, it's exactly what flytyingguy1 said it is - an invitation to hear a spiel regarding time sharing

First hand experience. Last year on my wife's birthday I surprised her by booking a trip to Vegas. I was at the local BPS and was offered the package. 99 bucks! We were so excited. Throughout planning the trip I googled the reviews and nothing positive. Like a dumbass we still went through despite reading all the bad reviews. Got to Vegas, very vey wonderful place. They even let us check in early. I thought it wasn't so bad until next day. They claim that it was going to just be a quick 1 hour tour of the place. After 3 hours of them trying to sell us timeshare I was to the point of feeling like punching the lady in the face! Totally not worth it at all. It'll ruin a perfectly good trip anywhere. I was about to just pack up my stuff and leave after the sales presentation but said eff it, it's already over just go out and chill have a good time.

Time and money better spent booking your own trip and guides if thats the way you are going to go. No long term commitment. It will end up costing you more in headaches and disappointments.

I've considered this too. Based on this info I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger.

Actually the reason I approached them (casually) in the first place was because I recalled seeing in the past these exotic fishing 'getaways' to places like Costa Rica, etc advertised in Offshore Angler catalogs in the past...Did they do away with them? It's certainly not what the travel folks in Foxboro had in mind

Its' about attitude...I have done a few of these not related to fishing and I didn't have any problem..why?... cause I just asked how much time they needed for presentation..say 1 1/2hrs,, when that time is up I've just completely ended any furtheir conversation, case closed. It takes a good set to do this properly.. can't be a mouse.

Here in Mexico they will pay you a $100 just to listen to their pitch. The guy that signs you up gets $300 so he is happy to give you a hundred. The folks in Bass Pro must6 not be the same caliber salesmen.

The package I had bought from Bass Pro also had a 100 dollar gift card. Basically they were paying me 1 dollar to go to Vegas! The catch was you only get the BPS gift card after you finish the sales presentation...

I was ar the BPS in Orlando. They gave $50 gift card to use in the store and $75 at the completion of the one hour talk....they are essentially paying me to go for three days. If u r a.New York State.resident u only have to listen for one hour...by law..then u can walk out...
