Guys with hyphenated last names

no offense if this is you, but why do some men have hyphenated last names? I'm in sales, work for a large firm and see this more and more lately

is it because the dude's mom remarried? is it a metrosexual thing?

for example "John Doe-Smith"

In South America it's comon to use your father's last name then your mother's. Might be the same elsewhere.

Some parents are just cruel to their kids. If they want to be hippy commie scum, that's one thing, but to inflict it on your kids in that way should be criminal.

Careful Koofy - I'm still trying to figure out if you may have fallen victim to Mbonner's devious female impersonation scheme....

Does your butt hurt at all or did the girl have an adam's apple or anything? The truth please... it is crucial if we ever to get to the bottom of this.

Your remarks will be noted in the log for future reference so please, just stick to the facts and be honest...

I betcha the girl convinces the guy that they should BOTH do the hyphenated name thing because they are truly equal, and if he ever even wants to sniff a hooha again that's how it's gonna be.

If that's it, they should just keep it simple and call him P_ _ _ _ _ whipped John, Mr. Jane, Jane's Bootie Boy John, or just Johnny no nuts...

Ya know, at least that would have a little Zing to it AND be demonstrative of his actual place in the home....

Some of us agreed to do it out of respect for our wives,
especially if they already had a recognized name within their industry.
