Bruce in RI
I just picked one up. It seems that it's a decent reel. I might try looking for a spool for it.

Wasque921
My experience with the trout size was good solid, no frills reel if it is the one with the clear label where the spool release is located (front side of spool). I'm guessing that the new later models with the black label is very similar. The click/drag was sufficient for decent size trout, and the rim control was also smooth. I think the reel was originally made by some British co...Leeda?

rob snowhite
Those reels were sold in the early 90's. Good luck trying to find a spare spool. be careful the 'disc' does not break as it is plastic and hard to replace. Mine broke about 10 years ago and it was not easy to find a spare part. Still fish mine on a weekly basis. Its a loud little reel but does its job of storing line.
