whtkdtn1401
looks exactly like Sargus to me but I believe it would have different features The 4000 model catches my attention. It has a drag that stronger than spheros, more line capacity, and almost same weight. Gonna have one when it comes out
whtkdtn1401
Here are some more information This reel is a pre-order and will ship in early September 2010. PENN BATTLE SPINNING REEL Built to Win the War Between Man and Fish Sometimes a little skirmish breaks out and the angler simply reels in the fish. But other times, it's an all out war and the winner of the clash is not determined till the very end. The new PENN® Battle® spinning reel gives the angler the advantage, producing catches instead of just hook ups. The full metal one-piece body and sideplate maintain precise gear alignment under heavy loads. And on the inside are more fishing fighting features like the Techno- balancedTM rotor that provides a smooth retrieve and won't compress under load. Six shielded stainless steel ball bearings plus an anti-reverse bearing add to the performance. The main shaft is stainless steel for added corrosion protection and durability. Beneath the machined, anodized aluminum spool are HT-100TM drag washers that have a wide adjustment range and stay calm, cool and collected in the heat of battle. No need for a mono backing with the spool, it is equipped with a superline spool band to keep braids from slipping. And to keep a secure grip on the handle, the Battle has an oversized soft touch knob. Here are some more information This reel is a pre-order and will ship in early September 2010. I like the Battle's specs and shapes of the body and rotor. The holes in the spool skirt are just the right detail; not too much or too little. The Battle is offered in a complete range of sizes. I hope this reel becomes a smash hit for Penn; preliminarily, I like it that much. "Who is John Galt?" Who? You?

bospa357
I find that reel more aesthetically pleasing than the Penn Torque.
lichum
I find that reel more aesthetically pleasing than the Penn Torque. By far, so do I. In the right amount, properly placed and properly sized simple round holes almost always look nice. They're just dandy on the new Battle. Penn's problem with the new Torque spinner (in my opinion) is that they're trying to tie the design visuals together by having the rotor/spool skirt cutout shapes approximate the triangular cutouts in the body. As I've said before: I just can't get those rotor/spool skirt cutout shapes to work for me. If I were working on the Torque spinner project I'd definitely drill round holes in the spool skirt and rotor and seriously consider round holes for the body. These round hole designs work for me: "Who is John Galt?" Who? You?
rocket500
Looks like a Conquer without the hatch- that's a good thing. I like that they are using HT-100 drags in some of these newer reels.
CandleburnerZ
Slammer and spinfisher flat handles. power ergo egg handles. Other than that, it's stilll a toss up. I love my slammer. That handle is a nono for me. Proud owner of #F110261 Penn torque 5000 black..........
lichum
Looks like a Conquer without the hatch- that's a good thing. When I saw the the Battle's body shape I thought of the Conquer. "Who is John Galt?" Who? You?

I agree, i never liked the conquer for that reason. And i also like the HT 100 drags especially the Large one under the spool ,better than the smaller ones stacked with other washers on top of the spool like the older Penn SS series.
