is 40lb braid roughly the same diameter as 17lb mono? power pro was on sale for 150yrds for ten bucks so i bought some. i usualy just use mono but thought i'd try braid. the reel says it holds 240 yds of 14lb mono but i have 17 on there so i'm guessing about 200-210yds? and i was pretty sure 40lb would be the closest diameter. so how much backing of 17lb mono do i need to have a full spool? or should i use heavier backing? thanks sol

This reel is awesome. Drag is silky smooth, super smooth returns. I got the 6000 and fit 500 yards of 30lb powerpro on it. Everything about this reel is great, get one.
