Pollock, Floating Night Fly, Tutti Frutti

More flies with reverse tied polafibre heads, "painted" with angel hair and Hard as Hull cement.

Pollock

-weighted jig hook 2/0
-flashy mixture of kinky fibre and fishair for the body and tail, polafibre for belly and the head
-emu feathers for the lateral line;

Floating Night Fly

-Gamakatsu finesse wide gap hook 3/0 or 4/0
-a "hidden crease fly" concept: kinky fibre w/flash for the tail, triangular piece of foam hidden in the head...add the polafibre and the flash over the foam. Very universal, floating line, sinking line, tracks perfectly.

Tutti Frutti

-Mustad C68S 1/0
-four feathers tied flat, small clumps of polafibre between them
-add the polafibre head and angel hair to finish the fly.

Thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated!

The first pollock imitations tied with emu feathers I ever saw came from Elderidge Bros Flyshop in Maine. They were tied as big grocery-type deceivers and were inspiration for the jig hook pollock fly.

The emu feather approximates the shape of lateral line in certain fish species rather well...
