Think that's a spot-burn.

Anyway, yeah. I have never seen it done, but I know people have caught well over 30# fish off a pier using those types of nets. I guess the largest problem would be keeping the larger fish IN the basket, and the metal not bending.

Same net I use in Texas. 30# no problem, if you are worried, buy a new net and double net it.

Is it collapsible ?

My suggestion, try and get 1 with 2 steel rings. With a seemingly VERY large net volume, with no weight to hold it down, the larger fish may feel the net "floating" before it is in the basket. You could also accomplis the same thing with a few 1-2 oz weights somewhere in the net space.

My pier net has a ring made from rebar with heavy hand woven nylon webbing. Heavy, but works fine. C2

I bought a generic Pier Net..Eagle Claw for now..It has the ring in the bottom...I still want to give the Popnet a try as this particular is collapsible into about a ten inch space....

yes it will bring up 30 plus fish we use them for big reds and black drums they get 40 50 pounds no problems we also put a weight in the bottom to keep it in the water better
