King Crab Legs and Bodies?

I've eaten King Crab Legs many times, l was wondering if there is meat in the body like a blue claw crab. I've never seen them for sale or even attached to the legs and I've never been to Alaska to see one fresh.

Hmmmm.....don't know..........but when I was in Boston on Monday, I saw some LIVE king crabs in a tank at the C-Mart on South Washington Street.....that was a first for me......I passed, since they were like $20 a pound..........

There would have to be to justify $20. lb.

A lot of times I see the legs with the cluster of meat that you would find in the body attached. I believe this is known as a cluster not just the leg. They probably sell any body meat to restaurants for fillings.

No meat in the body thats why they are so exspensive,The rest of the body is ground up for fertilizer.

I think they are sold as 'knuckles', the meat isn't as sweet and its a PITA to pick out. There isn't anything taste wise that compares to a Blue Claw Crab, too bad they don't weigh 5 lbs each, but that may be just my opinion..

Not just your opinion......I agree.....never been a big fan of king crab, as I find it just an expensive vehicle for drawn butter.

Snow crab can be okay, but again, nothing compared to blues....
