This reel is awesome. Drag is silky smooth, super smooth returns. I got the 6000 and fit 500 yards of 30lb powerpro on it. Everything about this reel is great, get one.
Was very happy with the lower price of the average Van Staal. Reel looks very well made and is an eye catcher too. I wasn't happy with my VS150 so I sold it rather quickly. This reel was very...
One of the best live bait reels I have used . Smooth drag system for light line fishing and a nice tension adjustment on the bait runner system. Good positive return to preset drag tension with...
Too bad this reel has a weak cross wind mechanism , other than that it is not a bad buy for under 100 bucks. I have landed numerous fish on the reel including 3 blacktip sharks in the 15lb range...
It fascinates me to see the stomach contents of striped bass. From massive amounts of peanut bunker and lobster to lead. Post some pics of the stuff you found inside your bass.
if i had a scanner at my house i'd throw up one of the most amazing pictures ever, the fish was like 40 pounds, my mother caught it on a date with my father beforethey were married. the fish had like 3 small togs, 2 bunker, 2 lobsters, a fluke, anda few crabs. i'll have to scan it on later.
I had a 30 lber once that had a trout, two croaker, and a couple big bunker in its belly, another one I caught had a big rock in its belly?
sorry no pics
I never thought to photograph the stomach contents, but I had a 20 pounder, this year, that had a whole lobster and a really big herring inside. This year I've also seen more crabs inside the stomachs of stripers than in previous years.
I've cleaned a bunch of fish, but more times than not, their bellies were full of grass shrimp and spearing. I fish in the backwaters most of the time and only find other species in the stomach contents towards the fall when the fish are heading south. I do find it interesting that I rarely clean fish full of peanut bunker, even though I usually fish under the bait balls most of the time. Either they digest those small bunker very quickly or they just don't eat them like I thought they would.
this is great it gives a deep insight into bait and what they love... hrm now if only the price of lobster went down... or if someone can make a lobster lure...

I've found rocks in the bellies of numerous bass and blues. I guess they may have been swallowed accidentally while foraging on the bottom. Anyone else find stones in fish?
