Power Worms, Pile Worms?

On a few occasions now I've asked other anglers what they are using for bait. Often the reply would be "power worms." However once I inspect their bait I am pretty darn sure they are using PILE worms. So is this a local thing or what, cuz it was kinda confusing at first!

All good meat fishermen use Pile Worms

And Blood Worms work real good also

Back in MA it's all about the sand worms. They combine the juiciness of the bloods with the durability of the piles.

Berkeley make a blood/pile worm bait that looks very much like the real thing and they catch perch like crazy...or so I am told. I still fish a lot of Kalins grubs.

DD...do those things still give you the heebie geebies?

Anyone have any luck with the Power bait sandworms?

I think you're referring to berkley gulp sandworms---aka pile worms.
In southern cali, they call it fish crack for good reason. that stuff produces!
During the perchin' season I replaced my usual MORF grub with the crack and have increased my bite ratio significantly. Hopefully this season I can do the same for my striper bite...

Back east in Jersey, they have a worm bite during the striper season. At that time, some anglers fish exclusively with sandworms or gulp. They rig 'em carolina style.

Nice! I'm gonna give it a try on this "Berkely Gulp Sandworm". How do you bait the hook with this stuff?

These guys were using the real deal, but they called them 'power' worms.

I have the 2" Gulp Sand Worms that come in the super juice. In 1 day of head to head testing on a 2 dropper rig the real bloods caught all the fish. I know they catch, but when fished side by side the real worms win.

the 6" versions were designed to be retrieved not still fishing. U can drop shot them or use them carolina style with a barbed long shank #2 hook.
