I saw a lot more bags and tubes leaving the show this year than in the past few. I as well was a buyer this show picking up a 3wt hex built buy a retiree from ME who also teacher bamboo rod building. Also picked up a silk line from Italy to use on it. Got a unbelievable deal on the rod! Felt like I should of had a ski mask on and a weapon to get a deal like that the price of the line? Well, all I could think was the value of our dollar to Euros

What did you get at the show?

I picked up some odds and ends - A few tails, hooks, herl etc etc

Books, flies, gifts, a echo practice rod for the grand kids, a blue light kit acrilic fly building set, some flys that were selling for $1.50 each, $15 a dozen and $29.95 for 3 dozen. At $0.83 cents each, I can't tie the selection I picked up in the 3 dozen special price deal. Nicely tied on quality hooks, too boot! And a Coldwater, Airflo clear 40+ line at the Bear's Den booth for $29.95 as a show special. It's a WF8I for my new 11' 6" surf flyrod.

Just doing my duty keeping the economy moving along!

I picked up a good majority of the natural tying materials I needed. It was a matter of getting more product for the price I normally pay at the shops.

just got some huge saddles from the place across from the bears den.. picked up some bird fur and one of those flash blends from bears den.. had a good time, talked to foulhook, FFwannabe, striperslayer and a few others friends... was kinda disapointed with the casting area not really long enough for my satisfaction of loading a rod ohh well so some real nice salmon and striper flies there and had a great time reguardless

Hardly made it past Bear's Den. Walt Meuller was tying those eggs flies and had a pretty good deal going for the materials. Since I'm heading to the Salmon River again in Feb. I needed that stuff. Got a fly box there also.
Liked playing w/ the new toys and talking to the guys you know. Not a great show; but a good time none the less.
But if they held it in the middle of fishing season there'd probably be no one there!
Missed Francine and Glenn form Down N' Trout. Not as much fun w/o the beads!!

Oh yeah...........what happened to the Flea Market at the church???

I bought four books, a spey casting DVD, and a (cough) jungle cock cape. (Or is it a saddle - don't know because I don't know what a jungle cock looks like!). I paid dearly for the JC but I've got a bad jones to tie some of the old time streamer flies and this is what it takes to satisfy it!

Also picked up a backpack full of reading materials that will give me many hours of enjoyment not to mention learning.

And oh yeah, a great day of camaraderie with my buds!

I almost got a TFO 11'6" two handed 8 weight rod. The salesman took me out front and I test cast it. Really not too difficult to cast 100' with it but I really gotta' think this one over a bit more.

Yes it was. I'd say I cast it about 15 to 20 times and about a third of those casts got out there. It was about 35 paces from where I was standing to a tree I was just about passing with the line.

I picked up a discontinued Simms Surf pullover for $159 in the color that I wanted and it was the newer version with the adjustable neck seal.

Saw an autographed hard cover copy of Robert Post's Reading the Water but that was way out of my league at $250.00!

What day did you go? In the past, the flea market at the church has always been on Sunday. I was at the show on Saturday so I didn't get to check out the flea market.
