What color lures do you use at night?

I am curious what color lures do you prefer at night. I keep reading that dark colors are best at night but I am curious why. Wouldn't a bright color like yellow or parrot be more visible than blurple or brown in the dark?

Its always depending on the phase of the moon....how bright or dark the night is......a good anytime color for me is eel green over silver! Dark nights.....black with scales! 1/4 moon to full......my bunker paint job slays!

look at it from the fish's point of veiw, if the moon is out andyou look up its going to bright so you want a color that will contrast like dark blue, purple, brown, black ect... if the moon is not out you will want to do the opisite.

hope this helps

Yellow and white moonlight //// Black when its black

but on more than a few ocassions I experimented and sometimes it did`nt seem to matter if the fish were there and feeding.

For example: one night on the Cape in Ma. November....a warm rainy very dark night I took numerous bass from 14"s to 33"s range and one 42" all from the same spot.

I was tossing A Salts pearl, black, blurple, and chicken scratch and they all caught.

The 42" came on 3 oz 6" NJ Tackle tin with a big bucktail siwash..... so go figure.

I'm really starting to think the colors don't matter and that the presentation is way more important.
