Best lures for fishing under a bridge?

Thread Starter
This upcoming spring I'll be kayak fishing underneath a bridge. This bridge covers a channel that connects the bay to the ocean with about 1 mile to the beach...I believe it to be 20"-35". I'm thinking jigs, bombers, poppers, and spooks would work best. Any techniques or lures that are a must and would these type lures bring bass?

I think alot depends on structure under that bridge, and when you were going to fish it. Match the hatch is a safe idea, on a totally arbitrary note however I had good luck with a pogie colored rattle trap while fishing under a bridge? Hope that helps.

A bucktail tossed right up against the pilings.

Fin-S cut at head, 1/16 ounce jig head. suspend it and jerk it around, it won't last long. Works great!

Where I am there is a bridge simular to what you discribed. When the town replaced the bridge sime time back they left the old bridge in place along the side the new so residents can fish the new bridge. Most guys including myself use bucktails and rubber shads and do real well.
