Abu Garcia 6500 CS Mag & Mag Elite

is there a difference?

I am thinking of pulling the trigger and buying a CS mag but I might hold out and wait to find a Mag Elite. I've seen both with the green side plates.



Any opinions on either?

Both are great reels..If you find a Mag elite it's gona cost your more.If not collect them. I would opt of the lesser.

The Abu Ambassadeur 6500 CS Mag and the 6500 CS Mag Elite are one and the same...

The Abu Ambassadeur 6500 CT Mag and the 6500 CT Mag Elite are one and the same...

The name "Elite" is omitted at times because of copyright or trademark infringement problems w/ another reel maker, the name of which escapes me right now...

I think the difference is the 6500 ct c3 elite has the clicker and the 6500 ct c3 has no clicker. Other than that they are the same. I think ? Dcadotte

I went through the same thought process years ago, but ended up buyingya 6500 C3. In the end, you'll save money and be happy with it's performance.

It's a nightmare getting all caught up in the ABU "different model" craze.

I have one c3ct mag, a c3cs mag and a c3cs mag elite, and they are all green. lol

Besides the power handle, the sports mag has one adjusting knob and a palming side plate.

worth noting is that the palming style side plates don't work with the speed bushing. it does not matter that much but it is good for a few yards. if you get a sport get the one with the silver ring. the plastic rings are not even less durable

Upon further Investigation, my 6500 cs mag elite is an Abu Ambassadeur.
The 6500 cs mag, is an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur. Other than that they are the same. The ct is a non-level wind.

The new ones are sweet. Grey/chrome finish, 6-pin brakes, rubber handle, and a v-spool. They replaced the green ones.
