Long time no talk hope everyone had a good winter. Just wondering, I was going to purchase the new uglystick rod I think it is called the tiger? Anyways it is brown and I beleive 6'6" an I think it would pair perfectly with a small shimano saltwater reel I had in mind. I wold be using it for porgies, blackfish and fluke. Has anyone used one yet?

I used one for a couple of years for livelining herring at the base of a dam. I had the conventional model and liked it a lot and would get another one if I still did alot of that type of fishing.

ive got the 7fter paired with a shimano bait runner 4500 and use it for the same stuff you do and it does a great job, and for the money its hard to beat i think i paid 40.00 for it at dicks sports.

I've got one to use for fluke and blackfish and I like it a lot. I always rinse it off after fishing but the guide bracings are starting to corrode a little bit. Not to bad considering the rod is about 3 years old. I like the action of it a lot and for the price, feel it is a good rod.

PETE: i recently fished on a pacific coast charter boat during a tagging operation for the fish and game department, and the "tiger" is the rod the skipper supplied for all 10 fishermen to use that day. we caught between 600 and 650 fish up to maybe 6 pounds, quickly hauling them up, then unhooking and placing them in a huge live well. those "tiger" rods took a beating, being dropped on the deck, slammed into the railing, and bent to where i felt sure they would break. the tip seemed both soft and strong; none broke. i was impressed!!!
