Sergio
I am interested in hearing comments regarding the best places and time of the year to try getting a +30lb striper from shore in fresh water. I am interested mainly in CA and AZ sites. Thanks beforehand for your comments. Sergio
Flaptail
Sergio, the biggest I have ever seen came from the Elephant Butte Resevoir in New Mexico which is an impoundment on the Rio Grande system. I was sent a homeade video from some guys who were asking about Gibbs Plugs. April/ May is best and all the fish are huge!
Jig Man
Don't know anything about CA and AZ for fishing. Around here (KY/TN), the only places that you have a good chance at a striper from the bank is in tailwater areas right below a dam. Depends on the water temps and how much they generate whether they'll show up in these areas. Typically they'll do the spawning run up to the dam in April/May. In summer, when the lake temps rise, they'll be back. Jigman

striperondafly
Sergio - Flaptail is right on! Elphant Butte in NM has some cows. When I lived out in Santa Fe the NM state rec was over 50 (if my memory serves me correctly) and it was toppled a couple of times. Learn to Swim...
