I wait until my warranty is about to expire, then I drive with full air pressure until the transmission burns up. That way I can get a new tranny good for a few more years. Just kidding. It took a burned tranny to teach me. I now run at 15psi.

Virginia law says "undersize or altered fish". Can't clean em until you get home. If you're keeping undersize fish I think you're a jerk!

I just saw on WAVY tv in Norfolk, Va. that a judge in NC has ruled that driving on the beach in a Nat'l park is illegal. All of the outer banks of NC is nat'l park. What the F..........?

I can't find a listing for a diesel programmer for a 2005 E350 Ford VAN! I know the 6.0 in the van is programmed differently than the pick-up from the factory. I'm trying to find out if a pick-up truck programmer will work. I'd hate to screw up the whole computer.

Anyone fishing the point this weekend? I'll be the big ugly guy driving a white Quigley. Stop and say hi and teach me to fish. A free beer would be nice also

I have a 99 with the 4.6 motor. The power is ok, but I wish I had gone with the bigger motor. I did have an issue with not being able to get back out of 4 wheel low. Dealer said they couldn't duplicate problem. I drive the outer banks of NC and have never even come close getting stuck. I air down to 15-17 pounds and the expedition just glides over the sand.

Why NOT go down to 15psi? It's not low enough to break the bead and you're going to have to air up anyway. I can find no advantage to riding at the highest possible psi. The truck may seem like it is pushing thru the sand OK, then you realize you burned up a transmission. .02

Go with a Quigley 4x4 van. Twice the cargo capacity of a suburban. Ford or Chevy. Check out their website. You can have it built on whatever capacity suspension you want. 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton. I went with a 1 ton diesel ford. I bought a plain cargo van and sent it to quigley, then I took it to The Van House and they put a raised roof, 4 captains chairs, bay windows, fabric walls and full carpet. I thought about doing hardwood floors, but carpet is a little quieter. I didn't put the sofa in the back. I have room to put a cot and air mattress instead when I go to the Outer Banks or Cape Hatterass After the 4x4 conversion and interior conversion, it ended up costing less than a well equipped suburban.

Small wonder that we don't care much for yankees around these parts!!

Thanks Randy. I like the idea of an aluminum pan with fins. Makes sense. I've seen a few coolers with electric fans that I like. I'm going to start with one of those.

It is about 2ft x 4ft. I use it when I'm going to be away from AC power overnight or longer. At night I use a breathing machine because I stop breathing when I sleep (sleep apnea). I have a group 31 deep cycle marine battery permanetly mounted in my van. Attached to that is a 400 watt AC power inverter. This gives me AC power to run anything up to 400 watts. The solar panel will re-charge the battery during the day without having to run the engine of the van. I keep the solar panel in the van until I am ready to re-charge, then I just put it on the roof in the sun. To estimate the cost of solar chargers, figure about $10.00 per watt. A 5 watt trickle charger, about $50.00. My 30 watt panel cost me about $300.00. If you are looking to maintain a starting battery in a vehicle parked for a period of time all you need is a 3-5 watt trickle charger. Most of these plug into the cigarette lighter. Hope this answers your questions.

The question was about transmission coolers. Thanks for all the advice on how to air down my tires and drive in the sand. Great help.
