  • About Me:
    love to fish.
  • Interests (Hobbies, favorite activities, etc.):
    fishing, boating ,
  • What I do for a living:
    work on the big jets
  1. I just did my Karavan over. cost around 400 after all the hardware and hangers. Took the boat off and used a die grinder to cut all the bolts off. Saved a lot of time and agrivation. I did spray the new parts with zinc ablative paint even though they are galvanized. A bit more protection allways helps in the salt.
  2. Ditto with stroipaHuntah. You have to rule everything out or you are just guessing. I have a 115 evinrude that was chugging off idle. I found a piece of plastic between anti siphon valve ball. All better now.
  3. I work on the big birds and I am sure that there were lots to fix after that flight. I think Boeing has another winner .
  4. I run a 115 evinrude direct injection motor. post ficht, pre etec. Have had few issues with it. Last week though had a fuel line back off and motor shut itself down. No way to reset the code on the water. Resulted in a tow but engine did what it was designed to do and we had no fire. After reading the manual though found that you can read the codes without dealer software or connector and you can manually clear the fault codes.
  5. I Own the boat. It had a fuel problem that I took care of. Having one made. 175$ ouch.
  6. Went out to test boat. Boat ran great but after haul out noticed seat cushion missing. Anyone find it please let me know here.
  7. Being in the aviation industry we encounter screws that you just cannot get a good grip on. An old trick we use when all else fails is to use some vave grinding compound in the slot of the screw. Gives you that little bit of torque needed to break it loose.
  8. I have a 2004 post ficht/pre etec and it is the best motor I have owned. Filters, impeller and still going strong.
  9. I have two spinning outfits for heavy casting tins, top water blues striper, snagging bunker. Two level wind outfits for trolling. Two light spinning for fluke and two heavier conventional for blackfish and striper jigging . Dont forget a boga and a gaff.
  10. I second the protective dogs statement.
