  1. Thank you. They have sentimental value anyway so I actually wasn't looking to fish them or sell them.. I was just wanted to learn about them. Thanks again
  2. Great job on those sharks and the cobia katguy! Do you use a kayak to paddle out baits for the shark fishing?
  3. For some reason the pictures are out of order. I'm sorry about that. Here is another picture of the snag proof
  4. I have some old freshwater lures in my basement and I was hoping somebody here could tell me what they are, how old they are, and if they are worth any money. The purple frog is a hollow body frog, and it is made by Snag Proof (Snag Proof is written on the belly of the bait). It looks to me like it might be an early edition of their popping frog, but I don't know. It is very light. It is not in fishable condition due to the hooks. I have no idea who makes the green frog. It appears to still be in fishable condition. The topwater bait looks like a heddon to me, but I don't know. It is in pretty good condition, and it is fishable, it would just need new hooks. The lipless crankbait I believe is a heddon sonic. It is fishable, it just needs new hooks. They are a bit rusty, and one set of trebles is missing one hookpoint. Cosmetically it has some issues, including some paint problems on one side and a rust spot (I may be able to remove the rust spot, I haven't tried yet). I included pictures of all four baits. If anybody could give me some information on them, I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much for the help!
  5. Hello everyone, There is an outside chance that I will get the opportunity to go down to Ft. Lauderdale to stay with family during spring break, which is in the middle of March. If I do go, I would like to do a bunch of fishing while I am there. Does anybody have any suggestions for fishing from any beaches, piers, or other shoreline locations? I am also interested in trying some freshwater fishing if there are any opportunities for it. I would consider doing a party boat trip, so I am open to suggestion for one. I will also take charter boat recommendations, but I probably won't be able to afford a charter. I am most interested in shoreline opportunities in saltwater and/or freshwater. Thank you for your help.
  6. I am in the process of rigging my lowrance mark-4. I have the head unit mounted in the same location using the same ram mount shown in this link. http://www.rammount.com/Gallery/righobieoutbacklowrancemark4/tabid/4590/Default.aspx If you scroll through the pictures you can see that he actually just runs the wires out from under the hatch, and then closes the hatch on top of them. Has anybody tried this? Did it damage the wires at all? It seems like a nice alternative to drilling, but I wouldn't want to damage the wires either. Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Thank you very much for the help
  7. You could probably launch just to the west of the westernmost pier
  8. Thank You KJV0480! Yes that is plenty good enough for me, as it really isn't even that important to me. It was more the principle of it. If I paid for something advertised with certain capabilities that's what it should do, and now I know it does.
  9. Thank you! It is a chart plotter. But if it will read speed then why have the extra port?
  10. I ended up getting the lowrance mark 4. I haven't installed it yet but I see it comes with a port for a power cable and a port for speed and temperature, yet the unit only comes with a power cable. On the lowrance website, they make it seem like this unit will read temperature and speed as sold. What am I missing here? Will the unit read temperature and speed without the use of this other cable? Thanks again
