  1. Thought you might ask ... well, ct400,abu5600,tica 150,penn squidder and a few mid size spinners(shimanos). I know its hard, but i would like to get 2 lines(20/50 or 30/50 braid)or maybe a 20or30 lb. braid and ultra mono for spinners. Way to easy using 10 lines for 10 reels(I never know which were the better ones!) Trying to make life simpler in my old age. Howard
  2. Seems "most" prefer PowerPro... What lbs. 20 and 50 or 30 and 50 for most fishing in Hook area(weaks, fluke, small blues, blackfish, strippers. thanks
  3. I think i'll try TUF Line.. how much mono for backing? do you think on smaller reels(baitcast) the line will dig in without mono backing. thanks, howard
  4. Do you use mono for "backing" on spinning and baitcasters for braided line(ieowerpro) thanks, howard

    Fluke Mine

I know its late in the season, but how do you rig a fluke mine (small weight with bucktail hook attached). do you still use a regular setup (ie 3 way) and the hook is now weighted too?. thanks, howard
  7. Anyone know what party boats are catching on PM trips... thanks howard

    Shimano service

Thanks for the replies... the 400 isn't under warranty anymore, but sounds like Shimano(Irvine) will do the best overall job for "tuning" up the reel. Reel has taken somewhat of a beating(cosmetically)can it be reiodized again? Howard
  11. would like a shimano calcutta service(clean and inspect and repair). i live in north jersey(paramus area) anyone local, or should i send to shimano service center.. thanks
  12. Lets see how else they can screw the rec.fishermen.. Isn't there a good lobbying group around to fight them? Soon party boats will charge 40.00 for 5 fish 17" or more. Baaaaad news!
  13. sounds like what i use for fluking(lets fluke run with hook. Have you seen anyone use a rig with a float to keep off bottom?
  14. I think the Sea Fox may be doing weakfish trips..(732) 291-4222. Someone told me only one headboat was going for weaks during fluke season(not sure if this is true!) PS let me know who is going..would like to get out Thurs. or Fri.
  15. Are there any past postings (archives) for weakfish tackle(including, pole, rigs) thanks, howard
