  1. Hello from CT... I am possibly doing some business with Port Harbor Marine, the deal came together pretty fast and while I have no reason to be suspicious I wanted to see if I could get any local knowledge about this business. Good people? Good reputation? Any stories to share?
  2. The Osprey are always fighting for improved real estate... younger birds challenge older birds for the better spots. The older birds only keep their prime locations for as long as they can defend it. Maybe you were looking at a nest that was outgrown. PBS actually had an awesome Osprey doc that aired a last year... if you can find it, its a great watch.
  3. Keeping it going... a nice BFT for me from yesterday. We had great action a short run from CT, the boat went 3/3 on the jig. It is such a great feeling when you feed metal to tuna.
  4. I own a Parker 1801, I keep it in Milford CT but do not tuna on my own boat. I have a few friends with offshore boats and I am lucky enough to get lots of invites out to the action.
  5. Last week... filled the boat with 11 quality YFT then went into catch and release mode, not sure how many more we caught cause it was too crazy to keep count. We caught on the troll, the chunk, poppers, swim baits, and jigs. Was one of those trips where fish were busting everywhere for 24 hours. What a year its been so far!
  6. Left out of Clinton at 2AM yesterday, went 1 for 2 on the troll and 4 for 4 on the jig for quality YFT between 60-80lbs. Back in Clinton at the dock at 4:30PM. This is the first time I got tuna on the jig... it was so awesome to catch em like that.
  7. Yea, that's the whole point of the thread... CT guys getting on offshore fish, where ever they are.
  8. We went two for three on the troll, all fish hit sterling wide trackers... we had all the life going, whales, dolphins, rays... and the sonar was light up all day. Tried some J&P too but no luck. The fish we caught were full of 2-3" sand eels. The one in the pic hit a SWT while I was putting the first rod in the spread back out after our fist fish, the second I put the drag in strike, we didn't even have to clear any lines. It kinda was that classic tuna morning where the fish came up and were feeding for a window just after the sunrise, we caught a few and then they went back down and that was it.
  9. Nice... from the report I would guess the dump? I got in on the offshore fun myself this weekend but got in the car and jumped on a boat in NJ.
  10. Hello RI'ers... I am looking for a late summer vacation sport for my family. Just a quick trip from CT, but we would like to find a short term rental house that is as boat and beach friendly as possible. We are a young family of 4 that loves the water. I imagine houses with a dock are not likely, but something on the beach and close to a marina where I can get a transient spot for a week or so would be great. The boat is a 18' parker. It would be nice to see some new sights on the water, also trying to time it with the arrival of bonito. If anybody knows of a good rental house please let me know. Thanks!
  11. It’s not really that complicated... any of them work, it’s the crab that brings em to the hook. I like Asylum Jigs cause they are $1 cheaper then the rest, the hooks hold up and I’ve had good luck with them.
  12. I’d also check out Diamond Marine is East Haven... they are a Steiger dealer.
  13. They are all over... 1” to 3” and fueling blitzes daily.
  14. Sounds like you had a nice time at the fest then!?
  15. Here is the needle, left as a gift for one of my kids to step on. In fairness there is now way of knowing how it got here... but the cop was so certain it makes it easy to jump to a conclusion.
