  1. Dear Dr. Phil, When I retired, I could hardly wait to spend time enjoying my favorite pastime -- bass fishing. I got my own little fishing boat and tried to get my wife to join me, but she just never liked fishing. Finally, one day at the Bait & Tackle Shop, I got to talking to Sam the shop owner who it turned out loves bass fishing as much as I do. We quickly became fishing buddies. As I said the wife doesn't care about fishing. She not only refuses to join us she always complains that I spend too much time fishing. A few weeks ago Sam and I had the best fishing trip ever. Not only did I catch the most beautiful bass you've ever seen, only a few minutes later Sam must have caught his twin brother! So I took a picture of Sam holding up the two nice bass that we caught and showed the picture to the wife hoping that maybe she'd get interested. Instead she says she doesn't want me to go fishing at all anymore! And she wants me to sell the boat! I think she just doesn't like to see me enjoying myself. What would you do? Tell the wife to forget it and continue my hobby or quit fishing and sell the boat as she insists? Thanks, P.S. Enclosed is a picture of Sam with the two bass we caught Dear Fisherman, Get rid of that narrow minded wife. That's a nice pair of bass! Dr. Phil

Im looking to try something new, I have really only ever used worms and flukes because that seems to work good for me but I was wondering what else works good for bass I dont have a boat so all my fishing is from the shore! If it matters I use a spinning reel (because it seems most people used baitcasters) and I live in florida

  9. Anyone know any good lakes around here. I fish the golf course lakes in my neighboorhood (but technically not allowed to) and there are some pretty nice bass out here! But does anyone know any lakes that arent full of pesticides? I always catch and release in the golf course's because of the pesticides and I mainly do like to catch and release but every now and again id like to keep a couple!
  10. when I go to sportsauthority to get line put on my reel sometimes they ask what I would like to back the line. What is the point of backing the line is it just to save money because I normally use power pro and they will back it with some cheap mono? Is it better just to use all power pro?
  11. I just bought a freshwater setup I live in florida and will be mainly fishing for bass, until now I mainly fish saltwater im not an avid fisher but like to for fun and I use power pro for that.
