    Cooler Rack

Outcast, Check with your local tackle shops because you never know what you might find. A lot of shops have those little post it boards where you can find almost anything. I have seen cooler racks on them before. Good luck!
  2. If you want to spend a bit more money you could get the ones that I use. They are made by oasis-off-road and are great. The kit comes with 4 deflaters made from aluminum and screw onto the valve stem. You preset the psi and they stop where you set them. Best of all you can drive with them on. No more wasting time with a tire guage. You can do other things while you air down or just use the time driving to the beach entrance to air down. Great in the daytime but night time they are even better! No flashlight!
  3. Al, Thanks so much! Got a great start. Going to get some test casts in sometime tomorrow. Things are looking good. Kevin
  4. Al, Sorry for leaving that out, its going to be conventional! Thanks, Kevin
  5. Al, I'm hoping you can help me out. I was asked if I could build a rod for throwing plugs. The blank I was asked to use is a bgsw1145. I know it as the 9'6" breakaway 2 piece. I know I'll have to stress the rod etc. but was wondering if you have an opinion as to the quantity and placement of the guides. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin
  6. It all depends on what you plan on doing with the rod. I use an ABU 7000c3 on my 11'9" Breakaway surf rod. I only use it for throwing bait though. I think it is too big for throwing plugs. Of course there is always the exception to the rule. I would not be telling the truth if I said I've never thrown a lure with this rod. I throws a 6oz. Hopkins a mile! Sometimes when the fish don't want to come in you just have to go get them! Main thing is to get a rod that will do what you want. Throwing plugs with a rod that is too heavy or long will just make your fishing unpleasurable. That all purpose rod really isn't there unless your not out there that much. Then you can make due. Otherwise slowly build up your rod collection to get the rods you need.
  7. I agree with the guys using the BF All Terrains. I have 33x12.5s on my 90 Blazer and love them. They remade the tires and now are called AT/KO. They remade the tire to improve the side wall strength. Seem to have worked. I only go down to 20psi. and never have any troubles down at IBSP. Good luck and great fishing!

    The Ditch

OK. What other options are there up that way for good trip? Also have considered Block Island.

    The Ditch

I had a feeling it was up that way. I'll have to plan a trip up there one of these days. Sounds like it could be a great weekend. Thanks.

    The Ditch

I've read so mouch about the "Ditch" on this message board. It sounds like some good fishing. Where is it? I do almost all of my fishing from the beach between Brick, NJ and Island Beach State Park.
  11. I plan on building My BGSW1509 blank as a spinning rod. I have a Penn 706z I just love and thought that this set-up would be a great back-up for those real crazy weather days and nights. I just hate when I get sand in my conventional set-up. Any opinions?
  12. Al, I plan on building my Breakaway(BGSW1509) as a spinning rod. I have a Penn 706z that I really like and plan on using it. I figure having one spinning rod for backup in heavy weather is a good idea. I just hate it when I get sand in my conventional reels. Any suggestions on the number and placement of guides? I use 50lb. power pro on this reel and was wondering if I could get away with starting out with a 40 striping guide? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was already asked if I could wrap another one of these rods for someone else in the family. Thanks, Kevin
  13. You said it! We are listening. The 11'9" will throw 8 and bait with no problem. But with a big wind I just can't get the distance I want. Hopefully the 12'6" will do the trick.

    Beach Buggy ?s

I'm not sure if my first post was received so I am sorry if I am repeating myself. First thing to get is a tire deflation kit from oasis-off-road(www.oasis-off-road.com). This kit is great! Once it is adjusted to your desired pressure it never need be adjusted again.. No more checking tire pressure in the dark and wasting time while deflating. Second things to get are a front and rear receiver hitches. Makes cooler racks and platforms a snap to get on and off the truck. If you are using long rods, a roof rack may be needed if you are doing any traveling. Those low hanging wires and branches are a ***** on tip tops. Last but not least, if you are new to beach driving it would be worth watching the video from the NJBBA. The main gate at Island Beach State Park has it. They usually suggest it to new beach drivers. They also have a basic needs list for your vehicle should you desire a pass for the park. The list is a good one to start with when getting equipment for your vehicle. Good luck and great fishing!

Check out oasis-off-road for a deflation kit. It can't be beat! No more flashlights in the dark. Just hook it up and do something else. Also get a front and back receiver hitch to hook up a cooler rack and other goodies. Oh, and forget the beer! Also go to the main gate at Island Beach State Park and ask to see the NJBBA video on beach driving. Good luck and great fishing!
