  1. Goo Gone works well for that. Smells like citrus. Its great stuff.
  2. Was out on the yak recently, out back from 8:30pm to sun up. Loads of bait in the water, mullet, peanut, shrimp, silver sides, you name it. Bait was swimming around me, stripes were slurping on top and making a splash all night. A buddy on his yak and I had a field day. He caught 15 on the fly, with 3 keepers up to 30", I caught 32 stripes up to 27 1/2... Majority of my fish were all 26"-27" and FAT, healthy as could be. A great sign hopefully. Couldnt get a keeper if my life depended on it, woulda released it anyway, but man it was a fun night for both of us.... He caught his on the flyrod, chartreuse clouser and an eel looking fly. I got mine on one single soft plastic. A Tsunami 5 inch shad, chartreuse on top with flash foil looking sides. It held up all night and I retired it now hangin on my garage wall with the date and number of stripes caught. Best night in a while among a number of nights already logged with not even half the fish caught as this one. Had another friend out on his yak, same place last night, wind picked up, he caught two short bass. Ended up leaving at 4am or so. Go figure. Thats why they call it fishing! As a side note, if Striper daily bag limit were to be regulated like Tarpon one day. I would not mind one bit.
  3. Lemires Plugworks, 8 inch, doesnt float, but sinks slow vertical. My go to needle for years. BLACK. Fish it at night slow with a twitch every 3 turns or so. Broke my PB 4 times with this needle from 2010-2013. Record still stands at an Allenhurst jetty, 40inches, 24lbs.
  4. Long day of slow fishing Saturday 5am-4pm on the kayak, also fishing with a buddy. We paddled just inside and around an inlet to 1/4 mile or so out front and around shore. Buddy caught 2 barely legal flounder that we measured over and over to make sure, along with 5 or so shorter flounder, sea robin and sand shark. I ended up with 2 short flounder, a large skate, a dog shark and a sea robin. All on bucktails, 1-2ozs, assorted colors and white gulp. Good weather though and still a good time out!
  5. Hey yosco, Thanks! And no problem. Here it is. Simple and it works well. Bounce this off the bottom or jigging just off the bottom. The gulp tail has some good action and is not hindered by the squid tail or bucktail hair. I do both. But Chartreuse is the color!
  6. Hey Local24, It is a Trident 13 bought new in 2/2012. My fishing machine. Great yak!
  7. Recently had the yak out in a river, near an inlet. Caught my personal best flounder at 23.5 inches, 5.5 lbs (on the boga) on a crazy chartreuse bucktail, 2oz with a white gulp 4" swimming mullet trailer. The other one was barely legal at 18.5 inches, same bucktail setup. I don't use teasers. Some beauty filets from the big boy. Chartreuse has been the ticket all day everyday for me.
  8. 8 inch black needles at night. Lemire Plugworks
  9. Been catching some Stripes in a river from 16-22 lb range with some friends and I. In the yak and on land. Pictures do not do justice, but are some of that fattest fish I have landed from a kayak and on land in a while!! Bottle Darters and SPs have been the go to plugs.
  10. My response below. Very disappointing read. After reading this thread just adds to the list of why I strongly dislike the state. If it weren't for the passion of saltwater fishing, and having the need to essentially cross the state of NJ to get to the ocean and the waters flowing into, to fish, I wouldn't have a need to be in NJ, ever. From taxes, to gun laws, to no left turn and jug handles, no thank you. Dear Atlantic Striped Bass Technical Committee, I am a PA resident, avid fresh water and salt water angler throughout PA and coastal NJ. News of The NJ Conservation equivalency plan of 1 striped bass at 28 inches and up plus another striped bass over 43 inches is very disappointing to read, and defeats the purpose of the main goal to strengthen the Striped Bass population for both human and fish generations to come. This just seems like another fancy way of saying you get to basically keep two large, potentially important breeder fish.... It does not make sense and I highly object to this so called "solution." We all know that the large breeding fish are the key to sustaining and improving the Striped Bass population year over year. It would be ideal for NJ to follow suit as their neighboring states and coastal states have and set the daily limit of 1 Striped Bass at 28 inches and above. Please consider the change and leave out any underlying factors of political gain and greed. Hoping that the right decision is made. Thank you for your time and consideration.
  11. Looking forward to the BPS in AC. I am heavy in to freshwater for Lg Mouth and also for Saltwater species, but BPS is where it is at for freshwater gear. I think even more so than Cabelas. I go to the BPS in Harrisburg, PA. I do believe the one in AC will have a nice assortment of salt stuff when they open. Ive been to quite a few and it seems like they do carry tackle, etc appropriate to the area it BPS is located.
  12. For go pro mounts of all sorts, I have found a great site called eye of mine dot com. Ordered quite a bit of mounts from there.
  13. Yikes! you guys didnt get my sarcasm... Must be the weather...
  14. (Edit - Completely unnecessary ~ Sudsy) Reading a few pages back in this thread while bored on break. Just my observation No fish being caught anyway!
  15. I do use a scupper cart. Love it and very easy to maneuver with on sand and hard top. I have the Sea to Summit sit on top. It has rubber cones that fit into the scupper holes and adjusts width wise with a locking crossbar to fit a different widths of kayaks. Never had a problem with it and dont see how it could really damage with the rubber cones. They are forgiving. I usually push it right into the water and the cart just slides out when the kayaks rear end starts to float.
