  1. This is non-sense. Talk about something that is important. Those who have problems will always find a ways to make them acceptable. Not saying a person's problem should be made worse through intolerance.
  2. A contemporary Native American grows up in an urban area, usually of mixed blood, and is brought up to believe a Christian philosophy yet each bears a distinguished sign of grace. A natural being of a cultural past that shall not be forgotten. These beliefs may be trampled upon and torn by those of common thought. Being children of the soil there is a learned acceptance of abundance and so our grace yeilds. The Creator has given us everything: the water, the air we breathe, the earth as our flesh, and our energy force is our heart. We are thankful for every day. Each day is of balance with our Creator. To our Creator we oblige. We pray early in the morning, before sunrise, upon the morning star, and with the evening star. Prayers are spoken for our relatives who are in the universe and that someday they will come and words of rejoice are spoke where we may once again join within the earth. We also pray that the Great Spirit will live again. In offerings we smoke tobacco, a plant of gratitude. We do not pull the herb out by its roots, but cut the plant even with the surface of the earth, so that another generation will be born its place. At every meal we take a small portion of the food we are eating, and offer it to the spirit world on behalf of the four legged, and winged, and two legged. With a planned outcome the next generation of all that provides sustinance is reserved and rejuvinated. Celebration of the soil which has created us. If guests come by we offer the flesh of the Creator's bounty, not cabbage. With celebration of the next cycle of abundance we provide for elders and those who are less able. Each child bears a gift for a younger child. Each child and adolescent bears responsibility for the learning of those who are younger or challenged. We celebrate those who have honorably chosen to leave before us. We pray--not the way most Christians pray-- but we thank the Grandfathers, the Spirit, and the angel. We pray that the roving angle provide for our continued joy and for the everlasting power of the angel, as Christians believe. As life itself is a cycle, so we now come to a season of celebration and joy for what the angel has provided. Our Creator is celebrated for upon us a power is provided to be who we are and for providing each our obligation. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
  3. You seem to know alot about being offensive. Have a good one.
  4. Definately freezing with fat makes it tasty. Also, removing the venision fat is important as this tends to leave a chalky taste.
  5. Thanks. The curried vension recipe is a must do. Other recipes are appreciated.
  6. Haven't seen similar occurences here in Maryland. Sounds devasting to the heard in W.Va.
  7. Very interesting case. I'm going to look into this some more.
  8. Shameful conduct from people who claim to enjoy the environment. I see canoes going through the river where I trout fish. Never seen anyone spend effort to clear deadfalls... clearing 11 miles is not a casual undertaking that probably took considerable time and brought significant attention. Why wasn't it stoped sooner? Please post details when available.
  9. Can you not be decent, it that the issue? Not capable?
  10. Sorry RJ... quoted you and then you edited... same effect I believe. And peace be with you too!
