  1. Hi, I'm looking for a drying motor that will be able to handle a medium size drying wheel. I built one according to a photo i got here, out of a "screw-rod" some nuts&spacers, and two disks of ceder, but once I tried to put a 3W cabela's drying motor on it, it was no match, not even loaded with a small plug. My only option is to buy online, so what I'm looking for here is some names and models that will be able to handle the job, preferably ones that will connect easily to a screw-rod (any rod, I'll get one that will fit) . Thank you very much for your help, this maybe my final hurdle before I'll finely be able to share my work with the outside world Thank you all again, John
  2. Hi everybody! I was wondering if anyone here uses the new Megalite with braid, and could tell me if the levelwinding is good or not. the reason i'm asking this, is because it kinda looks like a small version of the AHAB, and that reel wasn't so hot with braded lines. Thank you very much for your time and answers, John
  3. HOLY HELL!!!! Is that a work station or a doomsday device? talk about a sawdust-free zone
  4. Thanks guys for the knowledge gathered here. I use my 113 to hoist whole cuttlefish + 4-5 Oz sinkers, which weighs about 12-15 Oz total. This setup is for flinging it of the jetty, or ballooning the bait out. After reading this. i think m problem is bad levelwinding and and not enough force applied to stop the spool. I think i'll switch to #50 mono as well...
  5. I have one black penn spool, and one red accurate spool. both weigh and look about the same...
  6. it's mainly for ballooning, but sometimes i can only "chuck" of the jetty...
  7. Hi, got a penn-accurate sharking reel, a topless 113. loaded it with 40# mono, but i can only reach about 20 yards each cast. The worst part is, that i'm getting backlashes like there's no tomorrow! damn spool so heavy! any tips? BTW, i use a 12' 50# line bigwater ugly stick . Thank you
  8. use 5 min epoxy or head cement. It makes it look like a candy!
  9. I use a chopstick that slides into the 6mm through drill hole. because it's kinda conical, i can push it until it becomes stable, and pull it out when i'm done with everything and ready to put the wire and finish. if it won't come out, i just snap it and drill through it.
  10. I'm starting to use epoxy, and want to get it right. what should i use in order to turn the plugs? do you guys build your own devices, or just but a rod spinner? Also, is there a way to spin more than one at a time? is it wise to do so? Thank you for your help, and sorry for all the questions... John
  11. Is it wise to use it for plugs? (flex finish, cabela's to part finish...) these materials are much more accessible for me. thank you
  12. That plug is so beautiful, it's sickening.... Best jointed swimmer I ever laid eyes upon. how do you get your self to throw it is beyond me...
  13. I'm thinking about the quantum cabo. to be specific, i want something that will be fast enough to work Robert's rangers with ease. need it in a left hand version... Would love to hear any recs, it will be my first "real" casting setup, after killing some cheap reels. thank you all, your opinion means alot. John
