  1. As stated, find the bait schools. I have some success throwing mag darters and the smallest SP minnow to cull the bass out from the blues
  2. Great to hear from you Dave. Hope you are doing well. Can,t believe you moved somewhere with no ocean. Take care man.
  3. Happy New Year everyone. I In NoMoCo I got 3 trips in the end of the year as soo as it was fishable. Only 1 hit in those 3 trips. Very little bait around. Did the sand eels ever show up ?
  4. I hope to get out at least once more this year. I tried the NoMoCo surf Wednesday afternoon and did not get a touch. Hopefully the bait sticks around
  5. In addition to all the curve balls the weather has been tossing us, the normally reliable bayshore blluefish have been very sporadic so far. TFour skunks in a row for me. Yesterday I only saw 1 3 lbs. caught out of a dozen guys fishing hard.
  6. I *like 20# test Fireline, this stuff is not as limp as some other braids, and you can usually get the knots out much easier
  7. NoMoCo early this AM. Beautiful clean water light wNW wind and hazy. Got anice suprise with a 25" Spanish Mac, followed by a similiar size bluefish. First Spanish for me in a long time. Both fish on a well tied sand eel teaser. Tried for fluke after that and fot skunked with gulp.
  8. Look what I found. A fat 19" flounder. First one of these I caught in years. A good sign.
  9. NoMoCo Monday afternoon. Sunny with some swells. No luck with plugs / teaser. Switched to a 5" sand eel jig and got a hickory shad on the jig. Then I got 2 22" bass, also on the jig. Prior to the storm I had been doing well with fish up to 26" on a variety of plugs. Merry Christmas everyone.
  10. Raritan Bay Tuesday around high tide. Schools of bait, peanuts and rain bait nappers and occasional cocktails blasting them. Fish were extremely picky and difficult to hook. It's been like this for the past week. Seems to be a lot fewer blues around this year. I may resort to snag & drop next trip if necessary. There sure is a ton of bait around.
  11. NoMoCo - Monday early AM. Tried for blues early and got 2 croakers around 14" on a green Ava tube tail. Lots of bait in the wash, terns picking away. Switched over to fluke and hooked a giant cow nose ray that broke off after a 10 minute tug of war that I was losing. Couldn't get another bite after that.
  12. Nice! Got em the hard way. Having limited success in NoMo Co, fluke up to 16". Will be out tomorrow looking for game fish.
  13. NoMoCo - Wed. AM - Inside 8 to 11 AM. Huge full moon tide. 6 bass to 27". Some cabbage present but fishable. Fish are still sluggish, most hits were very subtle. No love for the pluggers, I've only seen a couple of fish caught on lures.
  14. NoMoCo this AM. Good looking clean water with a small ground swell. Heavy overcast and drizzle. Not a touch.
  15. Nice job Liberty. I tried out front in NoMoCo, with good looking water but bright sunshine. I had one hit. I will try it again with better conditions, I(cloudy)
