  1. I have a Batson Rainshadow RX7 10’8” 7 weight (4 pc) switch blank (IF1087-4) with all premium components needed to build the rod, but the rod is not built. I also have a Batson Rainshadow RX7 10’ 7 weight (2 pc) (not switch) (IF1007) blank with all premium components needed to build the rod, but the rod is not built. I also have a Cabela’s (Made in USA, I believe by G Loomis at the time), 9’6” 7 weight Sli fly rod in excellent condition (2 pc). I can offer all three in a trade. What’s your general location?
  2. I spoke with the owner about six months ago. Very nice guy. He explained that a number of plugs were made in a mold that didn’t have one of the four clamps tight enough, if I recall. He sent me two new plugs, but I have yet to try them.
  3. Irishexit: I have a new one I bought this summer from Grumpy’s. It was $650 new before tax. I never fished it and it’s in 100% mint condition - just as you would find it on their rack. I would let it go for $450 FIRM, but you would need to meet me off the Bloomsbury exit in NJ, as I’m not interested in shipping. If you are seriously interested, I can take some photos.
  4. NJSpinfisher: Let me know at your convenience if you want to buy the one I posted in the past (I closed the original listing due to lack of interest). I’m asking for $150 and pick-up near Allentown, PA near 78.
  5. Here is a closer look of the Magnum. It is NOT the Swarter body:
  6. Just curious: Which Swarter broke? Smaller or larger AND was it an original OR was it the newer/updated thru-wired version?
  7. Rook45: I hope you are feeling well. I can offer you the following trade for the Visser: - Brand new with all paperwork and shims, never spooled Penn Battle III DX 4000; this is only 12.2 ounces and is the silver dealer only/deluxe version with the CNC machined brass main gear. I’m thinking this would be a very lightweight, but strong reel for you. - Lightly used (It looks used about a dozen times) Tsunami SaltX 8’6” 1/2 to 2 1/2 oz. rod. It is a 70/30 split with a relatively moderate action and has Fuji SIC stainless KW guides and a Fuji deluxe reel seat. No scratches to the graphite blank or the guides. - Very lightly used Dark Matter John Skinner Rod 9’2” 70/30. I used it 3 or 4 times and rinsed it after each use. No scratches and could almost pass for new. This is a lightweight, very moderate rod that is the easiest casting rod I have ever thrown. It has a Fuji reel seat, Fuji Alconite KW guides, and a cloth case. I would trade all three of these together for the Visser. I could drive out your way for an in person inspection and swap. If interested, please let me know and I’ll post pictures of everything.
  8. Thanks, NJ Dave and SOL. Sending PM momentarily.
  9. @NJ Dave NJ Dave: Does that mean you’ll take it at $125 OR OK that you’ll pass? Thanks for the clarification.
  10. @scoobydoo Nice work… Regarding the rods, is there a 9’7” AND how would you describe the action of the rod? Also, what would the lure weight range be on the 9’7”. Also, would this be about a 70/30ish two piece? Lastly, any general timeframe for the rod and blank release? Thanks!
  11. I would go down another $15 and could be at $125 PayPal FF shipped via USPS Priority. That’s the best I can do.
  12. In my actual experience for best accuracy AND distance: - For plugs over an ounce but less less than 3 ounces, I have used the “Vbestlife finger glove” from Amazon; it’s like 13 bucks for a two pack. For years I used the AquaSkinz for this range and above, but have found that I can cast better with this thinner/more sensitive material. I have found it to hold up well for this weight range, but wouldn’t use it for 3oz or above. - For plugs/jigs 3 ounces and over, you will do better with more padding and durability. The Gamakatsu (it has been made more durable compared to the original) or the AquaSkinz glove. - For heavy bait and wait, the Breakaway Casting cannon or fish conventional. - When fishing under about 3/4-to-1 ounce, I haven’t found it overly necessary to protect the finger. Hope this helps!
  13. If these happen to be new versions of the SaltX rods and reels: With the rods, any chance the guide train is a little lighter on the rods? With the reels, any chance the pinion is better supported so it doesn’t go off axis under load as easily as the current generation, which results in gear damage?
  14. Bump and price drop: $140 PayPal FF shipped to northeast & mid-atlantic states via USPS Priority.
