With the exception of Central Falls... I don't think there is a community in RI that doesnt have at least one area where you can't find some decent places to live... alot of them wouldn't be my first choice... but even Pawtucket (sorry Ditch) has real estate I couldn't afford.

agreed, can always find a nice little neighborhood/section....but you wouldn't want to send your kids to the public school system in most of those areas....

Correct....

Proximity to the not so nice area's is key... I have a bridge and a river to protect me from the nearest unsavory area nowadays :th:

thing about the RI sticks, there doesn't seem to be a lot of zoning. you'll see a beautiful house right next to what looks like a plywood homemade shack....Exeter-Richmond, north end of c-town etc

That's true in VT, NH, CT, MA, and ME as well. It depends upon the complexity of the current zoning laws.

I haven't lived in Pawtucket for over 33 years. The house I grew up in is valued at $108,000 by Zillow. It used to be a nice middle class area. Maybe not so much, now.

Two nice areas are the little development across from the golf course, near the Seekonk line, called Countryside, and the area adjacent to the East Side of Providence, near Blackstone Blvd. Used to be the Jewish section of the city.

Yep'...

Two very nice areas

Still pocket's of lower middle class neighborhoods in other areas in The Bucket that are every bit as nice as where I grew up

Pinecrest is the area off Benefit Street that's kind of wedged between Seekonk and South Attleboro. Used to be real nice. But it's mainly single ranch houses, so it probably still is. My old 'hood has a lot of multi-family tenaments, even though my old place was a Ferland ranch.

The single family smaller family home neighborhoods in Pawtucket seem to have help up as well as other areas in the state.... ironicaly a few of the more truly stately home's (from many decades past) have been carved up into so many squalid apartments they tend to be the worst area's... I'm thinking in particular some of the ones at the end of Mineral Spring

About 20 years ago, a dead body was found at the far end of my street, by the train tracks. Apparently, it was a hooker that some freak killed in Boston, and he dumped the body there due to the easy on/off access from 95.
