Can I use Green Grease on the reels? Also royal purple degreaser?

Anyone use Green grease on their fishing reels? Was going to order the Penn grease but found that I have a couple tubes of these. Based on the details on the package, looks like it'll do well on the reel.

What about cleaning the reels? Are royal purple cleaners ok to use?

Ive used green grease on my boat trailers and boat lifts but not in a reel.

if it’s a conventional reel it will be fine. Its thick for spinning reels unless its cut with some oil.

I would use it.

I filled my penn 706z with it and its working great plus it muffled the clicking noise that these reels are know for. I tried the same grease on my penn torque 5 and it was a total fail it was getting stuck as I reeled had to remove it and just stick with 80w oil also my vs250 didnt like the grease. I also remember when I bought my penn spinfisher v it took a bit of effort to crank. Opened it and remove most of the grease and oil it with really heavy weight oil and it was a night and day difference. My penn clash  did pretty good with the grease. You just gotta try and see what the reel likes.
