A bike that works perfectly but looks so crappy that nobody would consider stealing it.

Great question!  Go with the CSB, (Canal-Short-Bike).

The CSB has an array of super duty BRIGHT lights, a train horn, a place to hang your helmet...in addition to the obligatory racks and baskets.

Safety features include a roll bar, multiple CO2 auto-inflation flotation devices, a Personal Location Beacon, as well as a state of the art auto balancing feature -aka training wheels.

Good luck!

Got my bike last year off the side of the road with a free sign. Fixed a flat tire and added a pole holder. The perfect bike is free!
