Southington area fly fishing?

6 posts in this topic

I know the Farmington river is about 25 minutes away, but are there any streams/rivers closer?  I have no idea what the Eight Mile River is like and if there is parking.  Thanks!

Okay, thanks.  I did see the Eight Mile in the Angler's Guide, but didn't think of checking the stocking map.  I tried to use google maps street view to see what might be a promising access point, but I was getting frustrated and hence my post.

You may find the Southington streams disappointing in terms of location, access, and catching. If you're looking to fish for stocked, holdover, and wild trout in a classic blue-ribbon trout river setting (and tons of easy access) your 25 minute drive to the Farmington will be time well spent.
