I'm needing help and hope your knowledge base can help me.

I've recently recieved a Arthur Kovalovski 18/0 reel and rod both are used. Real is in good used shape rod shows some heavy wear but still intact. I don't know value as I'm new to this maker and sizing for big game fish. Any help you can give would be great thanks in advance.

Quite valuable and collectible. Not an expert on the specific models and which ones bring the most but I can tell you that $1000 is possible.  I’d be interested after some research if you’re selling it.

I know that the Kovalovskys  were highly respected for their reliability and durability. They were popular in the earlier days of "big game" fishing; they were bench-made and preceded Penn and-I think- Fin nor. That reel, especially in that 18/0 size, would certainly be desirable to collectors. I'd suggest you take some care in chasing down a realistic value; I think you're in for a pleasant surprise. You might start with ORCA (Old Reel Collector's Association); They'll be able to steer you in the right direction.   Unk

Send to Langs fishing tackle auction. The real value is what someone will pay. Ask Langs what estimate they would put on it.

X2--Lang's is probably the best way to sell it-minus their percentage, but totally reputable.Sorry ORCA didn't work better. They've gotten big. Used to be collectors, but probably more dealers now. HOW ABOUT IT, ORCA?? ANYONE WANTA GIVE THIS MAN A SOLID ESTIMATE OR LOSE HIM TO THE AUCTION HOUSE!

There's a Kovalovski reel collection on fleabay that's going for 200 grand and there's 63 people watching it. Should be interesting.
