Hi all.

Tomorrow will be one week here.

No fish from Race Point to Cockles Cove beach.

Water still too cold - evidently.

It's an hour ride from PTown to Monomoy Preserve - but I figure they will show-up there before Race Pt.

I hope it opens up soon.

Hi PF,

I did try a little "hidey-hole" in Pleasant bay.  Truthfully I didn't give it a ;lot of time.  I'll try it and Oyster Pond tomorrow and let you know.  The word is that the only fish being caught is in Buzzards Bay area.

Yes, confirmed schoolies in BBay, Bass River, south side, and loads of herring in CCBay estuaries right now.

PT is a difficult base early in the season. Hopefully you will not have to make the long drive to the South to find fish too many times.

Your beloved local beaches will start to deliver and you will be the first to know.

See you when I arrive late May.

Here's a recent Cape report from a fellow fly angler:

"I was on the Cape from Wednesday May 2 to this past Sunday May 6…….the fishing was poor to fair……….things are 2 weeks behind there……….. I fished all over the place………I averaged 2-3 fish per outing…….fished 2-3 times a day ……..1-3 hours at a clip………had a 12 fish afternoon in Cotuit with the largest fish being 25”………….also got skunked on Saturday when I thought the fish would turn on with the warmer weather……things should be different when I return next week…"

How does it look for Mike and myself and all the others who are part of the TH group at the end of this month?

Should be fine...decent fish already being caught on the southwestern side of the Cape, especially if this nice weather holds up.

Reports are worth jack.  At best they are history . It will be what it will be.

But am I  confident.

You bet I am. The bit is almost between my teeth now and the blood is starting to overheat.

Our timing is as good as we can make it.

Herb,a couple of little outflows on the southside are putting warm water into the chilly water.Outgoing in the dark. They're there.........streamers.

Another alterative is that sweetwater big pond down cape at night with gurglers along the shore. The State did a very good job.
