for me it was just a bit too close to the reel.

there are 2 guides on the bottom section,removing the bottom one also made it look more custom.

Nice Pics.   Looks like you are using a very short wire leader.   Are you also using a shock leader of sorts?

Usually run 18" of wire, either cable or #14 single strand , 450lb swivel, 12 feet of #100 mono shock connected with FG knot
