Africaster
Works of art! Over and above the awesome colour scheme, that head profile pushes my buttons. Very nice. gellfex
Nice! What skirt is that? I usually use simple squids skirts for low drag & scoping while fluking, but those might be nice to have too.

gellfex
So you're actually tieing them on like hair? I thought it might be on a tube like the squids. Below is my swinghook design with 2 squids.

gellfex
Thanks Rob, that's really interesting stuff. I may get some of that and experiment and see how it does versus the squids in both catching & scoping out for fluke.

flylikabird
Looks great Rob. What's type of wire is on them? What is the weight? They look like they'd be great on Black Sea Bass. Just wondering if they'll get down 30-35 feet on a moon tide. It seems to me that bucktails for shore casting have different needs from boat jigging. From shore you want that resistance in the skirt that will lift it off the bottom as you retrieve. But from a boat you want as little resistance as possible to reduce your scoping out. That's my logic in using the squid skirts that have a lower resistance than typical hair or the ballooning out silicone that Rob is using.
