You have one girl.  You don't get to answer this question.

And she's a goody-two shoes -- that's just the way she is. For an itinerant degenerate miscreant like me, that's a bit disappointing.

Mine too.  I can't recall ever having to spank her.  The boy did go through a period where he thought he had the biggest dick in the house.

Bullchit.  I've never once spanked a kid out of anger or with malice.

so what is your frame of mind when you hit your kid?

never mind, you answered this already, it was to prove your dick was bigger,

did it work?

A good spanking is a statement that there is a limit and there are consequences to breaking the rules .

There is absolutely no scientific data whatsoever to back your statement. Quite the contrary, actually...

Pop hit me once....with a belt, and it was when we lived in camp lejeune.  Lotsa little brats around.  He told me not to play in the dumpster but I did.  I deserved it and didn't do it again.

That's enough scientific proof for me.

spanking does nothing but allows a "parent" to blow off some steam on their kid.

I always laugh at those who think it was good that they were spanked,

discuss how many times they were spanked,

and clearly it didn't change their behavior.

It sure as hell changed my behavior.  There were a lot of things we didn't do because the punishment would be too great.  And there were some things we did because we thought we'd get away with it.

then it didn't change your behavior,

your behavior was based on whether or not you thought you could get away with it.

Did you really just say that about his child?

There's a fine line. Kid should consider if their actions would cause(spanking, loss of privileges, etc) but if it's not your actual kid, don't touch them.

Agree / disagree?

personally I found my kids feared me taking away their video games or cell phones

So where is the science behind this?
