Bunker and rockfish gone from miles river

4 posts in this topic

Last week, there were menhaden and rickfish all over the dropoff at the mouth (red channel markers) of the miles river. I was over there this morning...don't waste your time.

November 28 I caught a 21 pounder wading on the eastern shore. My next biggest this fall was 18 pounds. Didn't measure my rod yet for the 21 pounder but the 18 was 37". Tons of bait around for the full moon in November and some around for the new in November then around the full moon beginning of December there was bunker around again. It was a good season

The Monday after Thanksgiving I went from St MIchaels over to the Western shore. There was no sign of anything in Eastern Bay but we did well over on the Western Shore. We did pick up one 28 inch fish along the ledge below Bloody Point but that was a bit of a one-off. The screen showed nothing before or after.

I gave up after the trip to the Miles on account of boat transmission problems. Didn't have much luck in shallow water after the early part of November, but I guess wading is a different game. Where I am most every place is either rip-rapped or somebody's back yard.
