Sudsy
Coming up this weekend to fish with the BIL on his boat (he's not a big fisherman) Not looking for any spots just an idea what's running in that area on this labor day weekend. Porgies be the best bet ? And I'm assuming it's early for albies and bonito ? Also, will this offshore storm screw things up ? Good2Go
Also consider fluke and sea bass. Go deep, like 100 ft or more. Albies and bonita I've not sen yet in the sound. Offshore storm? Who knows? I have some of my best fishing when the surf is churning. Just beware of small craft warning, a fish dinner is not worth your life. snapper head
I could be wrong, but Norfolk CT. is no where near the sound. Do you mean the Norwalk islands?
Billybob
You mean Norwalk Islands, I think. If you plan on going at night or first light, you should be able to snag some bunker and you could try for stripers around any of the boulders around the Islands - there's plenty of structure. If daytime, try fluking/seabassing out past the Islands , shoot for around 60 feet depth with a bumpy bottom.
gman1253
I'm sure you know -but be careful on a boat around the Norwalk Islands - lots of rocks. A few boats wind up on them every year.

Sudsy
47' If you went straight up and down it was a porgie on every single drop, if you cast out and worked it in it was seabass Edited September 5, 2017 by Sudsy I just wanta play everyday despite small nagging injuries -- and go home to a woman who appreciates how full of crap I truly am. ~ Crash Davis Social Distancing since 1962
