First smelt eating salty bull of the season.

Fins are a bit beat up from spawning and looks like it had a encounter with a seal.

I just like this photo so I thought,  put it up. What I think it says to me is "Good Times Ahead"

Size 1 hook, med lead eyes, 3 Marabou plumes, 4 strands silver holographic flash each each side of the tail, White EP  1 " Tarantula legs for the body. I tie the fly with white thread and over wrap the head to finish with Hot Orange 210 Uni Thread.

 

I also make this same fly with Extra large black bead chain eyes for a slower sink rate when the water is shallower.

In Florida in most cases it is not much, sometimes about a foot but that can make a huge difference when the tide is pushing. along the beach in some of the deeper troughs.

I like those a lot. Kinda reminds me of a SW version of the white death pattern for steelhead.
