I doubt, at this point, that any case will ever be made against anyone. The killer or killers have relocated where they dump the dead; I'm sure they are still active.

That’s a possibility but another possibility is these old farts were trying to see what they could get away with or doing some sort of ritual weirdo stuff. I don’t think we will ever find out

Any new finding on "genetic genealogy" ?

So new evidence has been released to the public. Apparently they’ve had a belt with initials engraved on it for the last 9 years. Probably should have put it out to the public a little earlier, no?  Don’t know the significance of the belt but they say it was handled by the killer. They are also now finally going to use genealogy search for suspects so they must have some DNA.

No Bait. No Barbs. No Buckets.

An attorney for the family of Craigslist escort Shannan Gilbert, who was last seen on May 1, 2010, fleeing the home of a client in nearby Oak Beach on Long Island, tells PEOPLE that Biancavilla’s comments are “nonsense.”

“The only similarities are they are all sex workers and they are all dead and they died violently,” says John Ray. “That doesn’t mean Bittrolff is the guy.”

It was the search for Gilbert, in 2010, that led to the discovery of the other Gilgo Beach victims.

Ray says his investigators looked into the possibility that Bittrolff was the Long Island Serial Killer and found a “loose connection” between him and Barthelemy — but, Ray says, “It is a sixth degree of separation thing.”

“There are no other connections,” he says. “It is a false hope.”

Gilbert’s family has long believed that a doctor who lived in Oak Beach is responsible for her death. But law enforcement insists she likely died of natural causes in the marshy swampland around Oak Beach.

I just read up a bit on this case and I found the story above. I appears to me that this "doctor who lived in Oak Beach" should be suspect #1. After all, law enforcement insists that she happened to die of natural causes and then from what I'm getting, where she did this happens to be in the epicenter of the corpse field of the other murders... What a coincidence!

Are they protecting someone?

The cops don't want to find out who the really killer is.  Too close for comfort.

All sorts of crazy flying around about this case

some tried to plane Burke given his penchant for rough sex

other one I heard a few times was someone tied to farms out East on n shore - he killed himself supposedly around the same time as a police raid on some of their property
