I just found my grandfathers Alcedo reel. It was his first spinning reel. I believe the model is 2C, I'm not sure. Anyone know where I can find schematics and any other info about this reel? Here are a couple pictures:

It's been a long time since I owned one of these. They are very simple and you can go right in. One main gear and a pinion gear. The screws are very soft so be careful and have an exact fitting screwdriver. I use gunsmithing screwdrivers on these type reels.

Lately, all I've been using to clean up old reels is a bath with dish soap.  Use hot water and a toothbrush.  With some patience, it will get it nice and clean and not damage anything.  Make sure you get the bearings completely dry and oiled after though!!

Regular reel oil should work just fine.

That's perfect dockviewer. Thanks a lot! I'm really amazed at this reel. It hadn't been touched in what must have been 20 or 30 years and it still turns with a nice smooth action. I love how simple and durable it is. Now I just have to find a screw driver that fits well and I can get this guy opened, cleaned, and lubed and it should work like new.

Be careful if you should take it apart and want to remove the rotor there isn't a ball bearing as like on other reels were everything is contained as one unit, what this reel uses is a trust bearing 3 parts 2 washers and balls and if l remember right about 19 balls don't hold me to it, there is part 54 & 53 this are called trust washers and then the balls # 59 that go between the washers then flat washer and preload nut # 20 l know this reels well fished them in early 60s,

And part # 35 agate line roller check to see if cracked, these reels were work horse,
