It looks like we have steady 60+ temps forecast starting Friday. The bouys at Execution Light and The WesternSound still aren't reporting but I think the water temps are still under 40. We need some real sunshine and warmer temps to kick things into gear!

I'm trying to get my boat ready to launch for next week as I think we must be getting close.

Yeah I made some casts over easter weekend.  Not in one of the major holdover rivers but a smaller one.  Last year first fish came around April 15, and we had a much worse winter this year so expecting end of April.  Big rivers are starting to produce of course but that's not surprising.

Should be a matter of when the herring start running...

last week the sound was 40°f but it cooled back down. With the turn of the weather you will see a steady increase of fish being produced i know a couple guys that have landed a bass Or 2 in the 20# class but nothing bigger. Still just using SP minnos and rigged sluggos and more rubber

Went up the river for the first time last week for a little bit and caught a 27inch striped bass On the very first cast with a bucktail and 4 inch zoom fluke used as the trailer on the bucktail. Ended up catchiing a 12 pound carp a little later then the water slacked up an nothing else happened. Going back out tonight hopefully. sprung a leak in my waders on my last trip so have to get some new ones today. Just gotta find one with a good warranty return policy

Got the LL Bean kennebecs Waders, I love them!! Anyways I have been lighting it up at my spots the past couple nights with lots of good size schoolie bass from sizes in the the high 20" to the low 30" bass. Nothing huge yet but cant wait for the big spawners to start coming up. Theres been the occasional 15# -20# bass being caught in the areas but i havnt been that lucky yet. o well at least my rod stays bent for the time being, and for that i am grateful!!
