What it's cool with powder coating is that you can do it on parts too

Thanks guys

Very nice. I see someone is marketing a double dog ss bridge and 5:1 ss gear set for the 500. Turn it into to a mini Baja Special.

My future plan for that reel is a double dog bridge and Bryan 5+1 drag stack and leave the 4:1 steel gear since I have another one that's a mini Baja Special.

Going to use it for the surf

Thanks, Marc..

What's the cost to buy a set up for powder coating small parts? I see a project in my future.

Thanks

Some of the stuff you may already have

Toaster oven(walmart/target) $24 only used for that purpose, can't no longer cook food in it

Small compressor(I have a 3 gallon Campbell Hausfeld ) $70 on special had it for 5 years

Powder coating system Chicago( bought it at harbor freight) $70 works really good

Coating boot, I made mine out of a home depot bucket

Little 4 gallon shop-vac, connected to the base of the coating boot with a filter(I used a face dust air filter)

Powder coat paint( harbor freight) $5.00 for 16oz but not to many color, ebay lots of color but double/triple the price. There's also Eastwood but never dealt with them

High temp masking tape, silicone plugs

That's about what you need. The process of powder coating is fairly easy but parts needs to be clean and roughed up especially when dealing with chrome plating parts you have to make those parts look dull. When coating I like 2 light coats, if the part as sharp edge 3 coats
