Same rules as always: Report as little or as much as you wish but no "spot burning" for private freshwater areas that have limited access. I do not think it is a problem posting a report naming lakes like Round Valley, Lake Hopatcong or any of the other large lakes that can accommodate large groups of fishermen. But, once again, giving specific locations in those lakes is considered spot burning. If there is something reported that you do not agree with or consider a spot burn, report the post. Do not further burn the spot by quoting a spot burn. The theme will be learning how to catch fish, not where to fish.

Anyone ice fishing in NJ yet? My ice fishing gear has been dormant for the past year or so. I am tying some leaders and getting it all in order today because I am thinking there will be some ice fishing soon. I am not sure how quickly the ice becomes safe. It looks like we have only 8 degree high on Tuesday.

I just got off a pretty popular lake in north western nj.. where we drilled, the ice was anywhere from 5 to 8 inches. only managed 1 pic on a tip up and jigged up a crappie.. seems like plenty of lakes have been safe for weeks now

My brain is still frozen from yesterday.

Maybe it will thaw out and be functional this weekend.

Great Catch, you Southern boys are killing me.

Im normally really good with cold temperatures. Like being out in it actually. But yesterday was a completely different animal. That wind cut through everything and anything and was just downright painful

a lot of those fish in holding up are caught in 30's and 20 something degree temps. I've just learned that you fish for 15 minutes then warm the hands for 20 minutes and fish dead slow in high percentage areas. I just couldn't bring myself to get out there the past two nights with single digit temps. I do have a limit lol

I ice fish and used to fish lakes all night in the Winter for walleyes so long as there was open water so I like 30's and don't mind 20's, but it was 8 degrees the other day with about a 20 mph wind, hence the frozen brain.
