I found this interesting in the UK there is no charge for having a heart attack or a replacement heart if you need one.

No cost for a heart attack in the UK.......

Both cardiovascular disease (CVD) and coronary heart disease (CHD) have significant economic costs for the United Kingdom.

In 2009 CVD cost the UK health care system around £9 billion. 64 per cent of this cost was for hospital care, whereas 23 per cent was the cost of medication.

More statistics can be found in our publications Coronary Heart Disease Statistics 2012 and European Cardiovascular Disease Statistics 2012.

I would rather have a heartattack in the uk and know I will get treated, even if I was unemployed and coundn't afford insurance.

This made me chuckle.

I too would rather you have a heart attack in the UK where you could get treated when you are unemployed and can't afford insurance. We have enough of you people in the US doing the same damn thing.

And your tax burden in the UK is?

Assuming he paid taxes, if you divide the $14.5B by the 63M Brits, it works out that he paid $230 for the heart attack I hope he didn't have.

Of course, that assumes every man, woman and child paid into the health system, so I'm sure if he's a tax payer, his share was more than $230

If you have a heart attack, do you even want  a doctor that will do the work for 230 bucks?

Hell no, my Uncle Jeb would cut me open for free.

And it probably was this costly, why?

because the costs had to help cover the same treatment for who knows how many people that had a heart attack but no way to pay for treatment, because despite what a few folks around here would like us to think, we don't just say eff you to those that need the treatment but can't pay.

I tripped over two heart attack victims on my morning stroll.

It seems folks are dieing in the street now that Obama care has kicked in.
