Joe, I had a question about pricing. Why the 50% increase in price for the typhoon series over the virtus light or NIV series? In the small sizes there is not much of a difference, but the typhoon is about $30 more in the size 40. I do love the looks of the new series though.

I just checked Mudhole, and the prices seem to be corrected. The prices of a size 20 Typhoon, Virtus Lite, and Virtus Heavy were all within a dollar or two of each other.

Joe, while you're checking in here, would you mind explaining the purpose of the Typhoons. They look pretty good, but I thought that you had things covered pretty well with the NIRLCs and the Virtus Lite and Heavy. What was the thinking behind the Typhoons - what applications do you foresee them being used for?

They're supposed to be the same price as the Virtus Lites. I'm working them up and I'll get them changed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

The Typhoons in 8-40mm rated 20 to 40lb utilize the RLS frame which are rated between the RLC frame our lightest in sizes 6-20mm and the Virtus lites 8-40mm rated 30-60lb. The RLS frames are actually identical to the RLC frames in 8-20mm but we use a heavier gauge 316 stainless steel or Titanium for the Typhoons.

Like the Virtus line they are a concept style with a drop down in height from the 25 to the 20 so you can use the 8-20 for casting and add the 25-40 if you want for spinning. They are meant for heavy fresh, inshore, boat spin and surf where the Virtus series may be deemed a bit heavy.

The Typhoons seem very similar to the Fuji MN series and the Virtus are like the HN series from Fuji. I like em!
