Just saw this on my facebook act. there is a company out there that are making spinning reels out of titanium. didn't see an specs on there web page but the price that was quoted was 499.00 for the reel and 99.00 for a set of pliers made out of titanium The company name is Fortitude fishing Might bear watching to see how they hold up

VERY interesting reel.

The semicircularity of the large cutout on the rotor's side perfectly complements the body's roundness.

The rotor's simplicity is marvelous.

It looks like it was stamped from a sheet of titanium and then formed.

That's how I'd do it.

Titanium isn't that expensive per kg.  The machining would cost well more than the amount of material used.

The Okuma Trio's rotor also looks like it was stamped from sheet metal and then formed:
