Though not as shapely as the Sparto, these taillights are pretty clean.

Here is mine is mounted on a Paughco fender with a leather p-pad.

All fasteners are polished stainless button heads.

Here's a bulletproof sissy bar made from 1 piece of .625" cold rolled steel.

I drilled the upper mounts and slid them into position on the one-piece bar.

Upper and lower mounts are countersunk to accept bulletproof, 3/8" flat head socket cap bolts.

There is an offset on the left because the bar was made for a Paughco, belt drive, rigid frame.

I like Sparto taillights.

Ordered one today. Was gonna put a Tombstone on the '49, so I bought one and gold plated it. Trouble was I didn't measure it for the fender. I sold it and just ordered a Sparto. I'll remove the chrome, lay on the gold (again), and Bada Bing. This time I got the dimensions before I bought it.

Were tombstone taillights ever formed from steel?

All that I've seen were cast.

Here's a chromed taillight from a 1971 XLH; as OEM it was painted.

One of my favorite taillights is the beehive.

Made of steel, they are lighter than the cast tombstones.

This one has glass lenses.

I think it will.

It has to cover the taillight holes that the fender has now and you might have to drill new mounting holes.

If the taillight's curvature is a little mismatched with the fender's curvature a rubber gasket will accommodate the mismatch.

The bottom taillight was made for fenders with this curvature:
